In February of 2015, I embarked on a year long spiritual journey that took me through nine countries throughout SE Asia. I am eternally grateful to have had this time to visit many historical spaces and witness ancient traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism that are still practiced today; to learn a practice of meditation that led to taking refuge in the Buddhist Sangha spiritual community; to have completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training course deepening my knowledge of the Eight Limbs of Yoga and its beautiful science; and, to be trained in Reiki, the practice of healing mind, body and spirit through energy or prana.

For most of this journey I traveled by myself, which gave me a sense of detachment from the world I had known, and time to reflect on the new ideas and knowledge imparted to me by the sacred spaces, teachers and people I met along the way. Taking and sharing these photographs is a way to connect our ideas of religion, sacred spaces and tradition across time and space.

At the end of these travels, I was revitalized in my sense of purpose and spiritual being, and it has now been my focus back at home to share the ideas and practices I learned along the way with my friends, family and colleagues through my social and professional networks as “Prana by Jonesie.”

“Prana by Jonesie” brings together all aspects of my life into one fun, inspiring, creative force that reminds me of where I came from, the journeys along the way, who I want to be and where I want to go. I’m humbled and grateful to share my lessons from great teachers, my photographs and my work with anyone who has an interest in generating more of the beautiful, positive life force energy, or prana, with the world.

Thank you for being here, Namaste.
